Long Island Carpet Cleaners traces its history back to 1917, with its earliest known advertisement appearing in a 1919 edition of the New York Red Book directory. The company has been owned by the same family since its inception and is now in its fifth generation.
In 1960, the company expanded dramatically with the merging of United Rug and Carpet Cleaners Corporation and Kingsway Carpet Cleaners, Inc., forming United Kingsway Carpet Cleaners, Inc. This merger combined decades of expertise in textile and rug care, strengthening the company's reputation across New York City.
In 1968, United Kingsway Carpet Cleaners, Inc. acquired Long Island Carpet Cleaners, Inc., and it is under that name the company became widely recognized for its premier cleaning services. The following year, construction began on a state-of-the-art facility designed for cleaning and storing area rugs, as well as housing our corporate offices. This investment marked a commitment to innovation and excellence in professional cleaning.
While many longtime customers still recognize us as Long Island Carpet Cleaners, we now go by Kingsway—a name that reflects our deep history and the generations of expertise behind our services. Under the Kingsway brand, we continue to provide the highest quality care for area rugs, upholstered furniture, draperies, and wall-to-wall carpeting.
A defining moment in our evolution came in 2020, when we acquired our longtime friends at Fabra Cleen. This acquisition expanded our expertise beyond textiles to include natural stone, tile, grout, terrazzo, and decorative metal cleaning and restoration. This expansion allowed us to broaden our capabilities and solidify our reputation as the premier full-service cleaning and restoration company in the region. By integrating these services, we have continued to build on our legacy of excellence, offering unmatched expertise to both residential and commercial clients.
For over a century, we have remained committed to excellence, preserving fine textiles, and maintaining the trust of our valued customers. Now, as Kingsway, we carry that legacy forward with the same dedication that has defined us for generations.
