Carpet/Rug

  • Vacuum weekly to stop dirt and debris from becoming embedded within the material.
  • Try to minimize contact between carpets/rugs and shoes.
  • Dents from furniture can wear carpets and rugs out very quickly. Try to move your furniture slightly every few months to ensure that certain areas of your carpet don’t degrade faster than others.
  • If something spills on your carpet, rug, or upholstered furniture, the proper treatment will need to be determined on a case-by-case basis. The proper approach depends on a few key factors:

    1. The type of spill
    2. The type of fabric
    3. The volume of the spill
    4. When the spill occurred

For delicate fabrics, we would always recommend calling a professional, rather than attempting to treat the spills yourself. If improperly treated, spots that might otherwise be treatable by a trained technician are more likely to become permanent stains.

Natural Stone:

  • Regularly remove loose grit and/or debris from the surface with either a vacuum, mop/broom, or microfiber cloth.
  • Make sure to set the vacuum to the proper setting to ensure it doesn’t scratch your surfaces.
  • Clean surfaces using GT-1 Everyday Stone Cleaner and wipe them down with either a paper towel or a clean microfiber cloth.
  • Surfaces should be fully/mostly dry after you're done wiping.

Tile/Grout

  • Regularly remove loose grit and/or debris from the surface with either a vacuum, mop/broom, or microfiber cloth.
  • Make sure to set the vacuum to the proper setting to ensure it doesn’t scratch the surface.
  • For grout that has a color-seal applied, do not use a brush to clean the grout as this can wear away the color-seal.
  • For grout that doesn’t have a color-seal applied, spray each grout joint with GT-1 Everyday Stone Cleaner and scrub with a plastic bristle brush or soft toothbrush.
  • Wipe down with either a paper towel or a clean microfiber cloth. The surface should be fully/mostly dry after you're done wiping.

Furniture:

  • Vacuum regularly to prevent dirt and debris from becoming embedded within the material.
  • Clean spills immediately to prevent staining.
  • Minimize exposure of furniture to sunlight as sunlight can degrade the material.
  • If possible try to minimize contact between furniture and pets.
